As performances e os vencedores do “Tony Awards 2016”

Aconteceu na noite deste domingo (12) no Beacon Theatre em Nova York, a 70ª edição do “Tony Awards”, premiação máxima no teatro norte-americano. Confirmado as expectativas, o musical “Hamilton”, escrito e protagonizado por Lin-Manuel Miranda sagrou-se grande campeão da noite, ao levar 11 estatuetas.

A abertura da cerimônia ficou a cargo do apresentador James Corden, que dedicou a noite às vítimas do massacre de Orlando.  “Os nossos corações estão com todos aqueles afetados por esta atrocidade. A vossa tragédia é a nossa tragédia. No teatro todas as raças, religiões, sexualidade e gênero são iguais, abraçadas e amadas“, disse o britânico, acrescentando que “o ódio nunca vai ganhar“.

Como já é de costume, o palco da premiação também foi espaço para belas performances. Além do número inicial de James, o público pôde conferir as apresentações dos elencos de “A Cor Púrpura”, “Escola do Rock” e “O Despertar da Primavera”.
